Khan Younis camp Monday, June 18, 2001
Four of these pictures were taken on Saturday, June 16th at Khan younis
refugee camp.
This camp, particualry, the western end is a dangrous area because settlements
with many military bunkers surround it. It is one of the hottest spots
throughout the occupied terretories.
Children, till this day, face many dangers. Many of their friends and relatives
died. Some of them lost even fathers and brothers. Many others are living
with injuries, half of them permenant.
These pictures were taken to provide a glimpse of what those young beautiful
children are experiencing. They are fataly exposed to big size bullets
such as 500mm, 800mm, etc...
Yesterday, in Khan younis Amal neighborhood, five children were rushed
to hospital treated with various types of injuries. They were only playing
soccer not far from a military bunker. They could only find space to play
soccer in front of bunker or border of settlement. It is impossible to
play any sport inside the refugee camp. Soldiers shot at them. One boy
got shot where the bullet hit the side of his rear and stopped in his neck.
